The VT-CT series measures discharge capacity, charge capacity, energy throughput and coulombic efficiency with 0.05% current accuracy. Combined with the VoltTest grading software, it automatically sorts cells into capacity bins for consistent battery pack performance.

A battery capacity tester measures the actual usable capacity (in Ah or Wh) of a battery cell by performing a controlled full discharge at a constant current (CC), constant power (CP) or constant resistance (CR) mode, while counting coulombs and recording energy. It is essential for production grading and quality verification.
Coulomb counting integrates current over time during charge and discharge to calculate the total charge transferred (in Ah). The VoltTest capacity tester uses high-precision current measurement (±0.05% FS) with 1 ms sampling to ensure accurate capacity determination even for long-duration tests.
Yes. VoltTest capacity testers support automatic grading based on user-defined criteria (capacity range, IR threshold, OCV window). The system assigns a grade code to each cell and can trigger a sorter or conveyor for automatic binning — ideal for high-throughput cell production lines.
Capacity testing measures a cell's capacity in a single discharge cycle — typically used for incoming inspection and production grading. Cycle life testing (using a battery cycler) repeatedly charges and discharges the cell hundreds or thousands of times to measure capacity degradation over the cell's lifetime.
For small-scale production: 64–128 channels. For mid-volume: 256–512 channels. For high-volume cell factories: 512–1024+ channels. Each VoltTest capacity tester cabinet holds up to 512 channels. The exact number depends on your daily throughput targets and test cycle duration.
